this is me, indeed.
This is me. Workaholic, perfectionist, do-it-all until I make myself sick, 28 year old, young professional. Sometimes I’m a struggle-bus underneath it all but hey, that’s ok. I get caught up in “never wasting a second” and “giving it my all” but sometimes it’s okay to not be going a million miles an hour 24/7. Sometimes it’s okay to sit down and read a chapter in that book that’s been getting dusty on the shelf (even though you feel slightly guilty for not doing a load of laundry instead). It’s okay to sleep in until 9 on a Sunday because hey, why the heck not? It’s okay to forget about things on your calendar that’s already scheduled back to back to back - after all, we are only human. It’s okay to cry in the shower after a really long week (I’d say “long day” but I keep things bottled up inside until I explode, so “long week” it is). It’s okay to be perfectly imperfect. What matters is that you make the most of the time you’ve been given while keeping a healthy balance in all aspects of your life. Go to work early but make sure you sign up for that 4 o’clock yoga class. Meet those deadlines but be sure to nourish your body and mind- nobody can pour from an empty glass. Be a giver, but don’t be afraid to receive (I promise, it won’t be seen as a weakness). Take that weekend getaway to visit family... you never know how many special moments are left. Take time for your hobbies, but don’t forget about your loved ones at home. And when the going gets tough, just breathe and know that everything will be okay. Cheers to a little motivation for your Monday- it’s going to be a great week!
